Clembo
Hello all, a bit of advice needed. I have my Passat for sale due to me getting a company car. What with it being the holiday season and people tightening their belts. Does anyone have any advice on the best of way selling a car? I have just placed my car on the Autotrader and also on this site but does anyone have any other recommendations? Would it be worth placing it on ebay classifieds? The car has only just gone onto Autotrader but I'm looking at all my options in case it does not sell. Would a dealership take if off my hands? Bearing in mind it would probably be at a knock down price? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

charlie61
Whatever you do don't respond to any of the many sales calls you'll get saying they have buyers waiting for your car, it's all bull***t they have no buyers waiting, what they do have is a nice bank account full of mugs money. The best way to sell a car is put it up at a realistic price, if it's priced well someone will always come up with the money, try and get a dealer price or moan about how it cost you 20k 6 months ago so you want 18k and you'll still have it next year. Bottom line is there's a credit crunch on, people are tightening their belts so it's a buyers market I just bought a 2005 Subaru legacy 2.0R 78,000 miles, full subaru history for £3650, the phone was ringing off the hook Subaru Legacy R 2.0 Petrol 4-door Saloon 2x5 Speed Manual Four Wheel Drive Year: 2005 55 Mileage: 78,000 Estimated value of your car Part-exchange Price: Excellent condition: £4940 Average condition: £4420 Below average condition: £3890 below are the glass's guide valuations for PX for your passat at a vauxhall dealership, if they even wanted to buy it which I very much doubt I would expect an offer under bottom book, probably less than 3k Volkswagen Passat Sport 1.9TD Diesel 4-door Saloon 6 Speed Manual Front Wheel Drive Year: 2002 02 Mileage: 73,000 Estimated value of your car Part-exchange Price: Excellent condition: £4120 Average condition: £3690 Below average condition: £3230 Edited July 22, 2008 by charlie61
