mb Posted July 25, 2008 Report Share Posted July 25, 2008 2004 PC went a bit "crashy" a month or so ago then became completely unstable. Tried to run the usual spyware, reg scans etc. but too unstable to do so. Quick restore thanks to IBM/Lenovo System Restore & better but still unstable. Ran the free download MS Memory Scanner (Microsoft Online Crash Analysis) & the memory immediately started failing all 6 tests removed one of the sticks of RAM & tested OK, swapped sticks & failed. Removed suspect RAM & PC has been stable since yesterday afternoon so I think it is fixed even runs OK for general work with 256MB Have contacted Crucial to see what they have to say about the RAM Thought would post incase useful to anyone else - you need to make a CD/FDD not sure if it works from USB but a useful free tool !
