Hello chaps,

Noticed alot of discussion about LPG on here and thought I would show you my system.

Mine is a 2003 Audi A8 4.2 Quattro with sport everything on it. It also has the benefit of a BRC Gas conversion. Few pics below. I have the filler hidden in the rear bumper and tank in the boot floor. Love the car to bits, just awaiting to do the facelift on it and then i'll be happy.

Any questions please ask :)

Yes it was for sale on Pistonheads before, but I decided to keep it. Getting a Porsche 911 as a second car and this as the first.

Yep it originally came from Hull and I own the car around the Durham area.

I normally get anywhere from 240 miles to 320 miles to a tank around 65 litres worth of gas. Conversion cost £2184 by LPG Autogas conversion | Dual Fuel | CLS DUAL FUEL LTD in Durham and is the BRC Kit. Runs solely on gas once it is switched over at startup, no switch over at higher rpm and not had a problem with it. Over the moon really.

S8 boot badge I know what you mean, but it was badged like that from factory.... so quite reluctant to remove it. Was an early D3 and the first owner had a S8 D2, so this was spec'd with every sport option going on it. 20" Wheels, Sport suspension, sports half alcantara seats etc. etc.

Tis such a good car!

Nice looking car, I've got to agree with others about removing the badge and would also say there is absolutely no way Audi would have put that badge on at the factory. It will have been done by a previous owner or a naughty dealer.

can you please advise where the lpg filler is located on your car?

If you see pic no.1 there is a small black flap in the bumper. You open this and then screw the adaptor (In pic 4) into it. Takes 5 seconds and just keeps the fantastic lines of the car nice and clean.

Know what you mean Eddy about the badge. Once the facelift front end goes on I would like to put S Line badges on as essentially that's what it is and the V8 ones on the side of the front wings. Just to be different.

They never made an S-Line A8 either. I think your getting confused with the models of the D3.

The Front grill was available with the following badges, "S8", "W12" and "QUATTRO" or just unbadged.

Good choice what model? I have a 993 as a track /weekend car and as good as the S8 is the 993 is the car i choose if for fun.

BTW I think we spoke on the phone about May(my name's Mark) about buying the A8. I think you made the right choice about selling,I decided to keep the S8 and convert it best £2k I've spent on a car getting now diesel equivalent of 45mpg

Looking for a 996 Convertible to be honest, want a summer weekend car, that has a bit of poke. Hopefully with the 3.6 Litre engine too! And a rebuilt engine....

Yes I remember when we spoke and you were considering the LPG conversion. It is so good isn't it? I get to keep the A8 as it is so good for everyday, and a toy at the weekend. Glad to hear you are enjoying it!

993... Stunning motors.....

It certainly is a nice looking car, only thing is my daughter now wants to know why we don't have TV screens in the head rests? Guess they could be her Christmas present :P

One thing with the conversion, it does make the engine bay look very untidy. Is there no way of 'adapting' the plastics to cover some of it up?

Came with it luckily! With 2 Playstations in the boot too :)

On the D3 all the plastics that can be adapted have been, there isn't an engine cover. On the D2's I think you can hide it a bit more. I wanted a single common rail instead of 2 common rails for the LPG.
