This post continues on from Gizze's brilliant write up for upgrading your audio system using the Blaupunkt Plug-N-Play amp(s).

I am just trying to get to the bottom of what speakers to buy. Been to my local BMW dealer and they have asked me to get a list of all the parts needed of the 'net', then they can cross reference them. They want me to do this as these parts can not be returned if incorrect.

So far I have the following items: (Top-Hifi is BMW code for Logic 7 DSP)

Front doors:

2x Top-hifi Loudspeaker Tweeter - Part number: 65 13 6 964 013

2x Top-hifi Mid-range loudspeaker - Part number: 65 13 6 945 412

Subwoofers under front seats:

1x Top-hifi Central bass, right - Part number: 65 13 9 143 136

1x Top-hifi Central bass, left - Part number: 65 13 9 143 135

Rear side panels:

2x Top-hifi Mid-range loudspeaker - Part number: 65 13 9 142 512

But I'm just struggling to know which tweeter trim parts I need to order...

Door window lift. mechanism/window guide

Once I have the list, I'll try my 'super-reliabale' friend of a friend.. and if that fails I'll order them all from my local dealer.

Cheers

Which audio setup does your car have? There are 4 levels:

Basic (standard) - 6 speakers & 2 subs all run from head unit... and ****e!

HiFi - 6 speakers & 2 subs all run from seperate amp in the boot... and pretty ****e

ProDSP (Logic7) - 9 speakers & 2 bigger subs, plus digital processor and large amp... good!

Individual - As ProDSP but with larger wattage speakers and amps... very good

Of the above... only the Basic is easily retro-fit upgradable with the options discussed on other posts here.

I have the Hi-Fi option and want to upgrade to individual.

Which I'm guessing isn't possible from what you're saying?

Biggest issue is the lack of front centre speaker and DSP (digital signal processor). To use OEM (BMW) equipment would be very expensive, so the only option would be to use a professional car audio company and this will still be a load of money (I spent c£5k on my 996 doing a similar install with Alpine & DLS kit)

GiZZe knows more about the HiFi system you have installed and has mentioned a few times it's not the easiest system to upgrade.

HTH
