DSG or not DSG, that is the questions

Its just a case of getting use to the DSG, you really have to change your driving style when you're nailing it, especially into corners and roundabouts.

You can have loads of fun when you're feeling up for it, and just dropping it in drive is great when you're feeling lazy.

I've got the DSG and when I jump into my wife's Civic Type R (which has a truly excellent manual gearbox) I do have fun, but to be honest I don't miss it one bit.

DSG = Best of both worlds (in my opinion)

I'm starting to conclude that a test drive isn't anywhere near long enough to get used to this box, however, I've had 20 years of driving a manual and I can do that without thinking particularly as I live in the land of the roundabout, Milton Keynes, I have concluded a manual is a better option FOR ME!

....I've visited MK quite a lot recently and have started using S-mode for the roundabouts - It does make them effortless but sporting. Otherwise 95% of the time I pop the floor stick into M and shift gears with the paddles EXACTLY when I would with an old-fashioned manual transmission. DSG really is the best of both worlds and offers so many combinations.

I occasionally drive manual cars as well and I shift gears at exactly the same times - Tedious though.

You won't get satisfying power if you always drive in D-mode - D is best for traffic queues and urban.
