Collinite 845

Made some time this weekend to get a further couple of coats of 845 on. I basically chose 845 as I have heard it's quite durable as a winter wax and more importantly to me, its easy to apply. Looks quite nice too.

I have added a couple of pics below although these were taken on my phone, so quality a bit iffy. Anyway, over the past 6 weeks the car has been polished with Autoglym SRP, 3 coats of Autoglym EGP and now 3 coats of Colinite 845.

The wax has provided a much softer wetter look than the AG EGP - probably as most waxes do v's sealents. I'll be interested to see how long this lasts as the car is a daily driver and isn't garaged.

Probably all a bit OTT for a company car but it does look better for it. I did wonder if it was quite necessary to layer so much. Perhaps in terms of durability i'm on diminishing returns?

Hello TT

Looks great! Nice and reflective in the sun and some nice wetness on the wheel arches too. Im glad your liking the 845! We even have a similar colour car!

With regard the layering, there is a point where probably to many layers will start to diminish looks or start to cause bonding issues of there own. I wouldent worry with your combo though. I doubt you would see any advantage in putting on "another" layer until you see some of the others diminish prehapes in 4-5 months.

Thanks Geoff +++

I saw an Auris in a car mag in a very similar shade grey to mine. I guess that's the colour you chose.

I have a few days off work in mid November. I may add one extra top up layer then and hope that sees me through until the beginning of April when I will consider prepping again for a Summer wax.

Beading looked superb in todays rain - very tight, uniform and upright. :)

I was originally tempted to go for Colli 476 or 915 but was put off by a few stories reporting of tricky removal. I don't expect 845 to be quite as durable but it's so easy to apply, adding an extra layer takes no time at all in the grand scheme of things.
