[Audi A3/S3] newbie needs advice please

hi there,

i have just sold my 2006 c2 vtr and am looking at getting an a3 1.8t quattro

the problem is i only want to spend £4500 maximum and i want a black 3-door 51-plate minimum with average miles

how realistic is that?

most of the audi's i see are over 100,000 miles, is that really a problem with audi's, like when do major faults appear ie turbo need replacing?

my last 1.8T was still going strong at 120k... the engines are bullet proof, just need to check for the usual signs, blue smoke etc etc

for £4500 you will easily find a 1.8TQ with low miles as you can now pick up a facelift sub 100k S3 for £6500!!

yeah they are quite rare, try audi-sport.net clssifieds...been some very cheap well looked after cars on there over recent weeks

just spoke to a guy with an 02-reg black 3-door with leather that has 100k and he wants 5295 but wont accept less than 5k i really cant see how its worth that much,never mind

some people are just dreamers, when i bought there was a guy selling a certain rare blue S3 and the guy wanted 4k over what they were fetching.... he still has the car for sale to this day, still 4k more than its worth albeit reduced as per todays massively increasing residuals.

Lad on Sport net just let his S3 go for £4650 with 100k on clock...just yesterday...

thats a good buy, i looked on that sport net and there wasnt anything at the mo, i hvae now been carless for a week and its killing me!!

haha, i spent 2 months searching for my first one and 1 month for this travelling 100 miles for each..... much easier finding yourself a Focus mate
