Tarmac_Terrorist
I'm looking to buy Mrs TT some sort of speaker system so she can listen to her ipod in the kitchen. I would like some sort of all in one dock type system and ideally cost no more than £70 - £90. I know i'm not going to get 'Albert Hall' type accoustics for this spend, neither need it penetrate the double glazing either! It's just something to listen to when doing whatever you do in kitchens. However, I would like something which sounds half decent. One of the systems I was interested in was a JBL Radial Micro as it looks neat and (I assume) will sound half decent. Any thoughts / recommendations folks?
Biscuits
Have a search on-line for an Audio Pro Porto Go. They retail for £299... but I've seen them as low as £99. Punch well above any of the rubbish you get from Monster, iPlay and the cheap JBL stuff..
D1MAC
Klipsch iGroove @ £70 seems to get a lot of good reviews on Amazon There's also a Tannoy one at somewhere between £70 and £105 that might be useful. Amazon again The JBL is now cheaper @ Tesco - £60 sounds like it may be ok for the money. The other one might be M&S Link Mini Two Standalone Dock - Marks & Spencer IIRC it's made by Cyrus (as in Hi-Fi brand) so might actually be ok, especially for the money. Thought about buying this myself. Of course, you could just go mad and buy a Zeppelin, in return for mucho :assfecking: CAVEAT: I haven't listened to any of these, just thought about buying one (unless I go down the road of proper dock and separates) and this is what I'd be looking at for little outlay. At the end of the day, a proper dock and a few quid on separates is going to sound a whole heap better than pretty much any dock but it sounds like the clincher is price, portability etc so you take your compromises. bullett
We have the JBL (MrsB's xmas pressie from her parents) it's pretty good for the money. I use a dab radio with the aux input in my kitchen, no remote control but yopu get the radio in addition to being able to play any mp3 and sound is pretty good. Mine is a roberts. Pa55aT
We have got the logitech MM50 for the kitchen, not as good as the Bose dock we also have but still a good sound. The advantage of this speaker is that it also has rechargable batteries built in, so good for outdoors, can be had for £45 now, were originally a £100. Also get very good reviews and remote control.
