Steveouk
Help and advice needed Audit Bluetooth Carkit (A3 2007) and Nokia 6124 classic I have read through some other threads on here and made some progress but still have some poblems. My old phone 6230 worked fine with could browse my phonebook etc. Received a new work phone Nokia 6124 classic paired it with the car no problem but the normal button I use to select my phone book came up button not in use. I then installed the contacts download deleted the pairing and re paired thought i'd made progress as it came up as it does 'Please Wait' shortly followed by button not in use! ahhh! Thanks for any advice

Nelson_R32
The phone module in your car needs to be part number 8P0862335Q or higher in order to get the phone book Right Craig?

Steveouk
I don't know the part number of my phone module as it was fitted from new. The car was a factory order in Feb 2007 delivered in April 2007. Were can I find out if its this Q module? The phone book worked fine with my old Nokia 6230i
craigyb
You could find out with a VAG COM scan, or by asking the dealer to check. Around that period I would guess itw as a K module. The reason why is your old nokia is not symbian OS based, your new one is, I come across this issue daily with all Nokia Symbian based phones like E & N series. Steveouk
Thanks for you advice Craig. What would you say is the best way to approach this? How easy is it to upgrade the module? Any chance of getting the dealer to do it as the cars under warranty just over a year old and the module would seem to be out of date which was a £450 option. craigyb
On the A3 it is possible to update the software at the dealers, but I would say pretty hard to convince them to do it. But at least get them to check it. But as you say your car is under warranty and it depends how strong you are and how helpful your dealers want to be. Swapping the module is not too hard, but it is a passenger seat out job. Latest modules are "Q", "S" and "N", can't really say what the differences are. Steveouk
Cheers Craig, Just to clarify is it a software upgrade that is required or a newer module? May have a battle on my hands but got to be worth a try.
craigyb
As I said, it is possible for Audi to update the software in an A3/TT/T8 So they should not need to swap the module. But if all else fails, you can swap the module to a later one.
