b16drb
Those great guys at A8 parts sorted me out a set of springs / shocks for my A8 4.2 Q (D2 / 2000 facelift). After getting them fitted about two weeks ago - I thought I better get around to having the alignment checked and adjusted. I went to a local alignment centre (well know and used before); they said that they cannot adjust the camber (obviously that's what needs adjusting...!!!) and the car has to go to an A8 dealer. The guys said the front suspension is connected by a "box-frame" (????) I reckon that a main dealer is gonna hit my wallet hard, so does anyone know if the alignment can be done by a.n.other company ? Hope you can help ? Figure11
You can continue to trust your alignment people as there is no way to change anything on the front suspension except toe. The linkages are non adjustable that hold the suspension together up front. All you can do is center the Camber by loosening the bolts on the subframe. There is a thread somewhere with this process in. Back aft the rear is different and has an eliptical captured washer on one of the linckages that you can adjust camber with. mkoneman has done this recently. b16drb
Mike Thanks a lot (you are a star); I wonder if non-Audi garage could centre the subframe (therefore the camber) and then adjust the toe. Both the toe and camber are way out ? Thans Again Daz67
