Ari
Man this is annoying... Now I've got a PC with a DVD drive I thought I'd have a go at accessing all those DVD-ROM features advertised on some of my DVD's. Just tried one, went into the "bonus" section and sure enough one of the items on the menu is "DVD-ROM features". I go into it, and it tells me that "This DVD contains DVD-ROM interactive features such as screensavers, interactive games, wallpapers etc etc... Yeah great, but how do I actually access them!!??? The only "clickable" item is the button that takes you back to the original menu that I came in on. Very puzzled...
Chris_B
When you insert the DVD, it might play automatically in Media Player or some other DVD player software. This is the DVD Video section of the disc, you need the DVD-Rom section. Close whatever is playing the menus and videos and open Windows Explorer and go to the drive that your DVD ROM appears as. You should see folders on the DVD called VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS - these are the ones that DVD players look for and contain all the menus, video and soundtracks along with control instructions that tell the player how to present the menus, how the video is sequenced etc. Any other folders will most likely be ignored by DVD players and will contain content for your PC. If there's an AUTORUN.INF file on the root of the disc, you should be able to right-click the drive icon in Explorer and select Autorun from the pop-up menu. Hope that helps. Chris_B
Strange. I'd have thought any computer content would be just held in different folders on the same filesystem, as a standard DVD Video is an ISO standard filesystem. So what do you see in Explorer then? Ari
Chris, Sorry, not been ignoring your post, just not had a chance to try it. At work at the moment so no DVD's or DVD-ROM. I'll have another go at some point and let you know what it comes up with... Cheers Ari.
