petrolhedley
Hello; I'm new to this site. Running an 86 80 Sport (1.8i), got chance to buy 1 of 3 90s'- all 5cyl, a 2.0, 2.2 & 2.3. All similar mileage, (130k+) condition(v good) & price (cheap). All are front wheel drive only. Apart from "bigger is likely to be a bit faster", are there any marked differences between the 3 engine sizes? Any comments appreciated. Thanks. Rambaud
I had a 90 (mine was a quattro) with the KV engine, which was 2226 cc. Excellent car. The main difference between mine and the 2.3 was the latter having electronic fuel injection, IIRC. Changed around September 1989. Mine required 98 RON petrol (either leaded or unleaded). However, some KVs managed oK on 95 RON. The 2.3 is fine with 95 RON, IIRC.
