trev_biggs
Hi, I'm new to this forum and have recently bought a Vauxhall Astra 1.3 on eBay Motors, and am looking to add a diesel chip to add enhance the performance of the motor. I've found a chip whilst on Google, and think it should do what I want... Diesel Tuning for Vauxhall CDTi Models | DTE Performance News It's definitely affordable, considering the saving it could make just from tuning my diesel car for added performance. What would you guys say? Thanks, Trev.
shark_90
Trev These tuning boxes work by intercepting the signals coming from the ECU to the engine, and changing them to give you enhanced performance. This is all well and good, however it is rather a crude (albeit effective) way of doing it. They generally work very well but the problem is that the ECU doesn't really "know" what's happening within the engine or whether it's working outside of safe parameters or not. For the price of this module, I'd be looking to get a proper ECU remap done by a professional tuner. I'm not sure where you're based but I'm sure there will be someone in your area who can tune your Astra properly which will give as good, if not a better result and IMHO is a safer way of doing it. It might even be cheaper Welcome to Tyresmoke
