phn Posted February 16, 2009 Report Share Posted February 16, 2009 In an idle moment I was wondering if the famed ZF 5 spd auto (as fitted to my 1998 S8) is also used in other 'S' cars such as the S6 and RS6. treetotreef Posted February 16, 2009 Report Share Posted February 16, 2009 I gather that the 5HP24A gearbox is fitted to A6's,S6's,A8's and S8's The RS6 and S4 uses a 5HP19FL. Gear ratio's will vary from model to model, but the general design of the box will probably be the same. But this box in one form or another is fitted to many more models... BMW 540i, BMW 740i, BMW 840i, X5's etc Jaguar XK8, XJ8 and the 4.4 litre Range Rover see ZF 5HP24 transmission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for more info...
