Katallozi Posted March 1, 2009 Report Share Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Hi have any body attempt to replace the audi a3 8p mirrors whit the new facelift 2009 mirrors (becuase the turn signal in the mirrors looks much cooler). I'm thinking of making that replacement but before I purchase the new mirrors I must ask if someone else done that? I dont think rewiring the turn signal whould be any problem, but does the mirror control in the car work the same whit the 2009 and the 2006? I don't know if anyone has done it, but I would check that the mounting post is the same or you may need a new pair of those too. I think the lights in the mirror are LEDs, I remember seeing in VCDS that you can code the door modules for indicators in the mirrors as the indicator pulse is sent over the CAN. You may also need to change your door modules so you can code the indicators to work properly. You may just be able to run some wires up from your existing wing mounted indicators into the door and drop the voltage with a resistor. Kind of depends on how you want to go about it. Good luck! You're the first person i've read about wanting to do this... most (myself included) think the facelift mirrors are a bit large (think dumbo!). When I am looking in pic. of audi a3 2009 the mirrors seems to be dumbo ears but irl the dont look that big. Take a look at some newer audi a3 it doesent distinguish that much. I dont want/hope that I dont need to change the door modules just some rewiring and a resistor to the LED lights and hopefully it would work.
