How to polish or get rid of Unusual stain under clear coat ?

Hi all

Ive notice an unusual mark about 2 inches long and a couple of small marks which dont seem to have impacted on the clear coat more unusually its under the clear coat? Its a deep blue R32 the panel along with the rest of the passenger side of the car was repainted but never noticed the marks after the paint job last October just wonder how it got there?

Tried scratch X Autoglym stain remover etc no result unfortunately and i can understand as i mentioned the marks seem under the clear coat which makes the whole thing bizarre will wetsanding solve the problem ?

Paintwork is porus, it has holes in it that allow bug guts to get through and stain and for "below the surface" marks to appear. This should clear up using a paintwork cleaner, scratchX and Super Resin Polish both contain cleaners, if neither are having "any" effect then it would presume this not a problem that can be correct.

You say you had a paint job last year and its probably from that. Paint that is put on the car in the factory is cooked to a high tempreture, so much so that it is impossible to repelicate in a spray shop. Sometimes if a respray is not cured or allowed to gas then you can get those white marks.

Often bodyshops dont understand what even they are doing and will wax the car for you right after polishing. This will not allow chemicals to escape the paintwork and will cause cloudy paintwork.

Also, if clear coat is applied to thickly it cannot bond to the colour coat, this can also cause that white mark to appear. This is a major problem with all resprays, really thick clearcoat applied which cannot bond and shrinks and dies.

If it was insurance work your T and C's might tell you how long repairs are guranteed for. I would take it back to the bodyshop or talk to your insurance firm.

really find it strange why these two minor marks are appearing after 6 months ?? theyre not really protruding in any way only really close up! ( when washing, polishing waxing ) I noticedthem only as of Friday, but they are there! may take them to a different body shop to see if they can sort it out as i need a few bumper scuffs sorting as well !!
