davyk31
Could someone with access to reliable guides or market info give me some detail on the value of a car I have seen advertised. Its a Feb 07 335d SE Coupe, leather, satnav, phone and a few other toys, 19k miles. Its in a BMW main dealer. Also my car is a 325i M SPort Touring, auto, leather, heated seats, zenons and a few more bits, Feb 06, 27k, recent tyres and full BMWSH. What would a dealer offer me on trade in and what could I hope for on a private sale. The figures will either keep the dream alive or kill it !!! The 335d SE coupe sounds like around £23,500-£24,000 retail and your car is worth about £14,000-£14,500 as a part exchange. As a private sale you should (if you can sell it!!) be able to return £15,500-£16,000 for the 325. Hope that helps.
davyk31
Thanks Gareth, excellent info. They are asking 23950 for the 335d, thought it wasn't too far off. Private sale of my own is never easy but in the past I have got another independent to retail my car and return me the proceeds less a bit, might be an option. What would someone retail the 325 for ? Also the 335 is an SE rather than M Sport. it has the 19" wheels which makes the SE look decent enough I think, is SE a bad move as regards resale. Other temptation is that it has Pro Nav which other cars I have seen advertised do not have. Don't really care for this in my own use but know for resale it would be a bonus. I would say that non franchise dealer might get another £500-£1000 for your car over a private sale. Depends so much on the dealer in question however. 19's on the SE are good, as is having the pro nav system of course. SE is fine in the Coupe and at sub £25k they are the right buy as opposed to a no spec Sport (with a harsher ride too....)
garcon magnifique
Might be wrong, but I think the 335d SE coupe has the M Sport suspension anyway...
Irnbrukid
Dont know about the harsher ride the 335d se & msport have the same suspension setup cmon gareth you should know the msport is more desirable than an Shite Edition But as the man says these cars need to come with a good spec
garcon magnifique
I think I prefer the coupe in SE trim. M Sport is for all the chavs and lemmings.

davyk31
I reckon the 19" wheel option on the SE is nicer than the 19" M Sport wheel. Its a bit different as the 19" M Sport wheel is just a bigger version of the standard 18" M Sport wheel. Also the SE wheel looks easier to clean. Both the 19" wheels are nice and yes the SE one's will be much easier to clean. The 19" & 18" wheels look nothing like each other you must be confused.
davyk31
Also another option, i see a 335d M Sport saloon listed for a local auction soon. Its early 2007 with about 20k miles. Spec is leather, zenons, sun pro glass but no sat nav. What is this worth in the auction and whats the retail if a dealer buys and resells. Simonl
I would always take the CC over the Coupe now. You'd get all the extra back in resale (if not more) plus you'll have the benefit of some great open top motoring! Just look back in time at how well the cabrios have held their money. With the new ones, when the roof is up there is very little visual difference.
