just my 2p, but if you are serious about security, get a few local companies out for advice.

Not as expensive as you may imagine and technology has moved on.

We have a monitored system via a bt connection (annual fee), but newer systems use mobile phone technology and will phone your mobile in the event of and "event". Just make sure you use a contract for the mobile network, otherwise the network will cut off the sim after 12 months without use - probably just when you need it most. :eek:

Some of the wireless systems are encrypted and anti-tamper - i.e they cannot be blocked by jammers, and the system will alert you of jammers being used.
