VW GT
Hi Folks, I am new here and would greatly appreciate your thoughts on a high pitched, intermittent noise ("whining" noise) that is coming from the engine bay on my 2004 MK5 Golf GT 2.0 FSI. This noise is noticeable when driving and with the engine ticking over. When I turn the engine off, the noise will continue for a bit and then stop. The clutch pedal did stick to the floor on me about 3 months ago but it has been absolutely fine since. I did have four coil packs replaced about 2 months ago. However, this doesn't happen all of the time and haven't experienced any other problems etc. The drive is fantastic but just a little concerned over this noise that happens every so often. Is it me or is this noise a common problem? Many thanks
Tarmac_Terrorist
Welcome to TSN Have you tried turning the air-con off and seeing if this eliminates the noise?
VW GT
Hi TT, Yes I have. When the air con is on or off, the noise still occurs. However, following advice, I have been told that petrol FSI engines are a little noisey, so I maybe worrying about nothing. Could it be anything else?
