M4TT_The_Lad
Hi guys, I've just ordered a 318d company car, expecting delivery in January \9:D\0 If I get the car remapped, is there any way that my company might find out? Are there any "tell tale signs" that would give it away? Any help/comments much appreciated
Tarmac_Terrorist
The dealer may be able to tell but I doubt your company would know unless a warranty claim is rejected by BMW and expect your company / lease company to cover repair costs. The thing is, you will be invalidating your company insurance policy. If you knock a kid off a bike / kill someone or similar and your car is taken away for inspection, your remap could well be spotted and leave you in a very difficult position. bazza_g
I'd just tell my company I was intending to map it and offer to pay the difference - just tell them it improves fuel economy
M4TT_The_Lad
Thanks TT - that's not the sort of risk I'd like to chance! Maybe just have to hang fire, and wait a few years until I can afford to run a 330d. Hadn't realised that it would invalid the insurance. Thanks for your help+++
M4TT_The_Lad
They might just buy that Bazza, good plan. Are remaps reversable, as the lease company will expect the car back exactly as it was delivered once the lease runs out?
sr-performance
Any tuner should be able to put the std map back in for a customer as the original map is always kept. Evolutionchips have a deal with greenlight ins who dont increase premiums for there customers who have it remapped by evolution as they understand the benefits of a remap.. steve SR-Performance - remapping nottingham, diesel remapping, petrol remapping, remapping yorkshire, remap nottingham

Greenlight understand the benefits of a map alright - that's why they advertise on performance car forums & the likes and charge people extra money depending o the bhp increase
