Cockney Boy
I have just completed the retrofit of my A6 4F standard MFSW to the FBMFSW, but i have also created a technical document that shows how my wiring looms differed and what pins i had to move to make sure the new FBMFSW worked with my existing Slip ring connector. As stated in the application notes, this is there as a guide and not set in stone, even though the upgrade was easy, i strongly recommend you make sure you have the experience and have done your homework before performing this mod. cruiser647
Good work! You wouldn't have thought that would bo so different in the wiring stakes! Is the FBMFSW that much better?
craigyb
Strange as I did it with no wiring changes at all except for swapping the earthing pins as these were different types. Used the existing A6 harness.
Cockney Boy
The wiring harness on my original wheel were all black, where as the new hardness was using coloured wires. As the plug on the FB was different i had to de-pin the old connector and use that. If i didnt move the pin, my horn or buttons would not have worked at all. craigyb
I kept my A6 harness and just swapped the earth/horn pins. Everything just moved over to the TT wheel.
Cockney Boy
I had to use the new S-Line harness as the ground and horn crimps were different sizes, but i also wanted to know what pins did what on the steering wheel.
