I had a look in the workshop manual, there was lots about earthing airbag ignitors etc...just wondering if anyone has done a seat removal without all the special tools etc..? Cockney Boy Posted February 1, 2010 Report Share Posted February 1, 2010 On older cars such as yours, you will need to dis-connect the battery first, as there have been reports of airbags deploying without any impact. You shouldn't need to earth the igniter connector, as once you have un-plugged it there is nothing to ingnite the airbag system.
