gunner
My brother has recently bought a 2007 A8 4.2 TDi Quattro. The car is awesome but he has experienced a couple of issues with the alarm and parking brake. Apparantly he says some error msgs are flashed up on the dash but he wants to investigate further and maybe reset any errors. I have a shareware copy of vagcom on my laptop which I use on my TT and Golf. I also have a OBD cable which plugs in to the port on the dash. I want to try my cable and shareware vagcom on the A8 to trace any faults. My brother has been trying to locate the OBD port on the A8 but has failed miserably. IM hoping someone here can tell me where the port is located on the A8? IM guessing its hidden behind a panel or maybe the ashtray? PsYcHe
If it's the same as my 2003 D3, then it's in the driver's footwell in the plastic cover above your feet (if that makes sense). Not sure about the alarm, but parking brakes are an issue with these motors.. One thing would be to check that the parking brake connectors are clean and tight. shark_90
Yep, in the kick panel under the dashboard. I doubt the cable you've got will work, as the D3 is CAN bus car. Your cable won't be compatible.
gunner
Thanks guys, will have a look in the footwell for the port, looks like we may need a new compatible cable.
