Wizbit
I am considering fitting some hub centric spacers to widen the stance of my car by approximatley 15mm on each side. This will allow my wheels to better fit the arches. However, I'm a bit put off by a couple of things. Firstly, will they cause any imbalance to the wheels, and hence vibration? I realise that they are supposed to be machined perfectly balanced, but in reality, do they cause any vibration? Secondly, is it ok to use the longer bolts that will be needed? Anyone recommend a specific brand / type?
EddyH
Rather than longer bolts go for the bolt on type that your wheels then bolt to using standard bolts. I had big spacers on my S8 without any vibrations and I've since sold them to Ben at Shark Performance who I think now has them on his Octavia. Just make sure you go with a quality brand, I always use H&R and haven't had any issues.
