In reverse the parking assist light (on the button) has started flashing randomly and each time it flashes a high pitched 'beep' sounds behind me - no, it's NOT the beep telling me there's something behind my car! ).

Sounds like an error of some sort. Any ideas anyone? Easy fix?

Cheers all,

Mat

Mine does that too, VAG-COM tells me it is the inner right rear sensor. Bought new sensor and fitted it, fault remains. It's thus likely to be the sensor loom. Need to remove bumper to look at it and/or find out where the other end plugs in to.

You need someone with vag-com to diagnose the fault.

Mine was doing that and then someone on here suggesting resetting my MMI and that pretty much fixed it. It does play up every now and then but most of the time is OK. One of my sensors does need fixing though as on the visual thing one of the lines is always missing.

There is a combo of buttons you need to hold down to reset it but I can't remember what it is. It's in the manual though.

Damn... spoke too soon...it's back again. Anyone got any ideas on the button combination for MMI reset? I don't have my manual anymore... otherwise I'll have to take it down to the garage for VAG com etc and hope it's just the sensor and not the loom... any ideas of parts costs?

Cheers,

Mat

Thanks for that Trundlefly, very helpful! +++

It keeps getting better then happening again. I'm starting to think it's the controller, yesterday it wasn't working at all on the front and sporadic on the back. Does that sound about right to people?

Cheers!
