Bluetooth problem with new Blackberry Bold

I have recently acquired a 335i which I am very pleased with BUT my new Blackberry Bold will not pair. It is recognised but it won't accept a code. I didn't have the problem with a Blackberry Curve (which stopped working because of a"roller ball" malfunction) and BMW simply say that the Blackberry Bold 9700 is not compatible (presumably they mean "yet"). To add insult to injury they add that I could try a 2010 software upgrade for £220 but they could not guarantee that it would work!

Does anybody out there do software upgardes that will deal with this sort of thing? I am on the Dorset/Somerset border. Any help or guidance much appreciated.
