Gully Posted May 10, 2010 Report Share Posted May 10, 2010 hi i am new to this forum and just registered... i have recently sold my r32 and brought a audi a3 2.0t fsi quattro 05 plate...now i av noticed since i brought the car that there is lack of power and touqe at first i thought it must av just been me to used to a car with more power as i have had rs4's s3's s4's and r32.... i have had the car on a dyno over the weekend and i was shocked at the result.... the car should be producing 200bhp or close to that...and around 280 torque..... the dyno reading for my car was 147bhp and around 140torque.. i have un pluged the air mass and it makes no differance.. as any one else had same problem or can any one advise me on what to do... thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
shark_90 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Share Posted May 10, 2010 Welcome to TSN. I can almost guarantee that it'll be the diverter valve that's split and giving you a horrendous boost leak. The older valves were a diaphragm type which were prone to splitting, and the newer ones are a piston type which are much much better. I see a lot of 2.0Ts in for tuning (I run one myself) and the diverter valve is a massively common failure.. it'll go a lot better with a new one in, I'd put money on it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gully Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2010 i really hope it is that simple.... is the dirverer valve located next to the turbo..and does it consist ov two parts..a dump valve and i cant remember the name ov the other... could this really lead to such a dramatic loss in power...once again i really wana thank u and i will let u know how i get on..i av orderd a new mass air flow because the foil on old one seems to av had its days...i have checked all the top pipes etc and every thing seems fine..so im gonna get the car on a ramp and go throu the bottom..
