A8 D2 windscreen

Does anyone know if windscreen from a facelift D2 will fit prefacelift D2?

There is a bran new genuine Audi for the facelift on the e-bay at the moment at a good price. I would like to replace mine on the prefacelift S8 because it is all covered with small chips and pits, can't see much in the dark, rain on sun. But I do not want ot spend £170 for a new.

Preface / post facelift are the same windscreen, so yes it would fit - but - the problem comes in matching the type and colour of glass.

Pre facelift tends to have the purple tinted heat reflective type glass, where facelift has options for heated screens also. There is also a choice of green or brown tint typically....

Most A8's are insured fully comp, which normally entitles you to replacement screens through your insurance for a very reasonable sub £100 excess and no effect on your no claims..... This is probably the best route to make sure you get a good match...

So yes, it will physically fit, but cant guarantee it will match the other windows..... Put a piece of white paper behind your door glass to see what colour tint you have for example...

I can't be bothered about the type or colour as long as it is new and fit physically. I have third party only insurance. The thing is that in ETKA there are 8 different part numbers for prefacelift and another 25 for facelift models so I was not sure if they are the same size and shape.

I You are saying it will fit I guess I am buying the one on e-bay for £50 and 40 mile drive each way and fitting myself (have done it before front on Passat and rear in BMW 530i) because cheapest qoutes I have got was £170 for windscreen + £35 fitting in one place and £225 including fitting in another.
