Uncomfortable Driver seat

Which seats do you have?

Have you had your back checked for alignment as that can cause issues there, especially if you've just changed cars.

Also.. Do you sit on your wallet? I have a couple of pairs of trousers that can cause that problem.

I've never got on with Audi seats..... I suffered same sciatica in hips as you (all be it in a D2)

Ended up swapping my recaro sports seats in my 2002 S8 with a pair of recaro Comfort seats from an A8L.....much better, though not perfect.

Best seats I have ever had were on my old 1997 Saab 9000 Aero - superb.

I am not too happy with S8 seats as well. They do not give any pain or anything. The problem is that I am small, slim bloke and they are to wide for me so I do not get any support in the corners. Sports seats on my 1995 A6 are much better suited to me. I have been driving in that 30 hours in a row just stopping for fuel, food and pee, really comfy too.

Depends on which seats you have. My first D3 A8 had sports seats and after nearly a year it had to go as my lower back could not take it any more.

After time in a Beemer or two I bought another D3 A8, this time with comfort seats - some of the best seats on the market IMHO.

I had a 2004 d3 A8 with the standard seats and I have to say they were the most uncomfortable of any car I had ever driven. They seemed to offer no under leg support at all or for that matter no support anywhere.

The best seats I have ever had were in a Volvo S80 and an XC90. I could drive for hours in either car and still feel fine at the end.

With the comments about Saab seats above, it seems the Swedes could teach the Germans a thing or two about seat comfort!!

I have to say that my A8 (D2) seats are the best I've driven.

I've recently had a Volvo S60, Audi A6 (current), Passat, and the A8 seats are by far and away the best seats I've ever sat in, never suffering with sciatica. As Psyche said though, having my wallet in my pocket, does make a difference

Interestingly, had my Saab seats out to repair a faulty heating element once only to discover that they are manufactured by.......

Recaro....so they are German after all.

The lovely high wingback sports seat I'm talking about.

Have to say Volvo seats are superb as well...
