fozi.g
Hi guys. i've got a pre facelift S8 (1998) with nav but no screen. i wanted to find out whether i could install a facelift satnav/tv with the screen on mine. it seems pretty straight forward. the whole centre console is the same dimension on both cars, just one has a screen where mine doesn't. i dont think it would be plug and play but i cant see it being too much of a drama. any help would be appreciated. thanks foz+++
PsYcHe
It's not as easy as that unfortunately. The FL unit has CAN-bus, and expects a different display, etc. Not impossible, but not easy. You'd be better looking at a third party solution, which although you probably wouldn't get the centre display, would be easier to fit.
IT_S8
The Sat Nav retro fit is easy enough, no real drama there. Getting the facelift climate module to work with PF wiring loom is the pain as the A/C on facelift expects the canbus to deliver signals for engine speed etc so it can turn the A/C compressor on. TV retrofit is probably not worth it. Cars with factory TV have single pane rear screens to help the signals get through, so unless you have a 2.8 with single pane, it'll probably not work too well. Although I hate aftermarket, I have to agree its probably the most sensible option for a PF D2....
