After 6 years of ownership (and now its 11 years old) it's time for my wifes MK4 Golf GTi to be sold, and replaced with a newer version of the same model. She loves her Golf and is only selling because she would like a newer one. If you know of a car for sale, or you are someone who is selling one, the basic requirements are: - 5 door - Manual - Not red or black (the red looks like it could fade, and black would never be clean with her driving it) - Grey or blue would be ideal - Less than 60k miles - Must have full service history - No modifications (unless factory fitted of course) - Isofix (must be standard I guess) - Must have been well looked after (my definition of average condition is often someone's excellent, so car park dings/kerbed alloys etc will all need to be minimal to none) Budget is up to £10k, but I've been watching them for the past month or so and it seems they are being advertised at anything between £8-10K. I'm at the arse end of nowehere (North Norfolk) but would happily travel 250 miles for the right car, at the right price, in the right condition. The met blue at £10k looks pretty tidy, I did speak to them just now too. Its still available, it has FSH, but some specialist and the other VW main dealer. The guy reckons he took it in from a local sports specialist (Redline) as he underwrites a few of their cars. It's up in Harrogate, which is a fair old trot, but may combine a trip up their next weekend as part of a short break, to go view it. My only concern is part VW and part specialist, but I guess it's only a pretty bog standard VAG 2.0 litre lump, so not too much to worry about technically.
