I have a 55 plate TDI estate and after this recent bad weaher have found that screen wash fluid is leaking at the rear. The fluid appears to be coming from the area of the rear wiper motor.

Any advise on how easy it is to remove the trim from the tailgate to check if the leak is from the wiper motor.

Thanks

Brian

Hi there.......I take you have a newer shape 3C Passat not the older type???? Right 4 Torx 20 screws 2 in the grab handles part of the tail door trim either side. The others are not so hidden.....open the flap where the warning triangle would go. This is the bitch part, pull the trim off it will be tight as!!!!!!! You should see the pipe, reconnect to the motor.

Now add screen wash preferably the VAG stuff this will stop them popping off when they freeze as it has antifreeze in it and helps prevent jets blocking up too. 1 litre to about a 3 litre washer bottle on yours if does not have headlamp washers????

Its the ONLY reason they come off........trust me on this so many people bitch about it they just pile water in there(not covered by warranty)

Dry out all the connectors, check for corrosion including the latch motor one as water would have gone in there too.

Hope this helps Regards Tidy............
