the tray under the engine. :ffs:

Changed the oil on the V6 TDi this morning. The actual oil drain and refil was 10 minutes (let it drip as I faffed on other stuff).

Removal and refitting of the plastic tray under the engine was 40 minutes. Feck me! Can't these manufacturers do better? Where's the handy flap to get to the oil sump plug (which is on the side of the sump)?

However, changing the filter was a doddle - nicely on the top of the engine! +++

Hope you are ready for this trial Sponge! Could do with a pit or hydraulic lift in the garage!

Yeah I know what you mean, modern cars are way over complicated. I profess not to own anything built after 2000, that way you can do some of the jobs yourself.

That's no guarantee. My '97 A8 had an under engine tray too. But I never had the facilities (space) to be able to do certain things myself. Otherwise I would have.
