cruiser647
the tray under the engine. Changed the oil on the V6 TDi this morning. The actual oil drain and refil was 10 minutes (let it drip as I faffed on other stuff). Removal and refitting of the plastic tray under the engine was 40 minutes. Feck me! Can't these manufacturers do better? Where's the handy flap to get to the oil sump plug (which is on the side of the sump)? However, changing the filter was a doddle - nicely on the top of the engine! Hope you are ready for this trial Sponge! Could do with a pit or hydraulic lift in the garage! Flynn
Gotta love having a 17 year old car. On mine you can see the ground through the engine bay lol. The more modern cars have trays for aerodynamic reasoons I believe.

Mine would be too, but some are knackered and so tie wraps have been used instead, also the knocks and scuffs have broken a few clips etc etc. A flower pot made a good prop! theduisbergkid
You'll not be surprised that the MX-5 has one self-tapper holding a flap on, well, on standard cars it does. Mine has a flap of duct-tape. The Beemer only gets spannered by grown-ups, I've no feckin' idea what lurks under the bonnet...
Flynn
Yeah I know what you mean, modern cars are way over complicated. I profess not to own anything built after 2000, that way you can do some of the jobs yourself.

But I never had the facilities (space) to be able to do certain things myself. Otherwise I would have.
