mattsimis
Failed my MOT type test today as the brake lines are cracked and the parking brake seized (on the caliper, not the handle or wires). So I went off to find if I could just get some used working Calipers but Im going all over the place! VagCat says stock Caliper on an AHC (32v S8) is: 4D0615423B That PN caliper doesn't seem very popular at all. So I went to check A8 calipers, but find the S8 is meant to use a larger disc and different caliper, a bigger 280mm vs a 245mm A8 disc. However from eye balling mine and measuring through the wheel, it seems about 255mm, which is actually the same as a facelift Audi S4 rear disc (so Audi so indeed use 255mm parts).. Basically, is it different and can I use some other models Caliper as the correct one is too obscure?
Adrian E
have you tried calling A8 parts to see if they have what you need? I'd also double check the part number for your car with Audi themselves in case vagcat is wrong - they should be able to give you dimensions to check against and what the difference is to other options available. mattsimis
I did indeed and they identified the part as PF specific! Now just need to source the brake hose's, I hear the S8 calipers are different in some manner regarding hoses.
