Milo
I know the thing about 2 weeks but in reality, how soon do they usually arrive? Within 7 days or often on the 13th or 14th day? I was the 2nd car in a line of 5 or 6 last week doing about 36/37 in a 30, when as we rounded a bend, the car in front moved to my left of my vision to reveal a camera van tucked away in the trees. I braked straight away but the fact is I could see the back of the van (windows opened etc) before I braked. The car in front of me was oblivious and continued without slowing so assuming the public servants were awake and doing their job, the driver of that car is nailed on for a NIP. Also, how soon after zapping someone can they zap the next driver? Is it instantaneous? It was at a site I know of so no excuses. What really pisses me off is there has never been so much as a bump on that stretch of road. For all it is a 30 zone, it's between 2 built up areas with no junctions, no houses, no shops, schools, bus stops, feck all. There is only a path on one side of the road with a 6 foot wall on the other so it's not even as if you will ever get anyone crossing the road. Road safety? Tipex
I'm pretty sure they can read multiple plates, the 14 days for NIP to arrive doesn't quite work like that either, it allows for the NIP to have been posted on the 14th day, and allows a couple of days for the postal service, plus another couple incase it was posted on a Friday evening, so really, your not off the hook until at least 18 days, they only have to have 'posted' it within 14 days. In reality, I'm afraid there is no 'average' time for an NIP to arrive, I've had them arrive anywhere between the next day, and a couple of weeks. shark_90
I'm pretty sure they can only actually nab one car at a time, so I reckon you'll be alright.
Milo
In reality, I'm afraid there is no 'average' time for an NIP to arrive, I've had them arrive anywhere between the next day, and a couple of weeks. Gah. It happened last Wednesday afternoon (7th) and I had mentally pencilled in the 28th as being the cut off date for receiving it which is the day before I go on holiday. If it came the next day (29th) I'd be away for 15 days before I'd even see it. Shark - I sincerely hope you're right. I reckon I was in full view of the van for no more than a second (while doing >30) with the car ahead of me being in their sights for 4 or 5 seconds as we rounded the bend. Even if they need as little as 10 seconds to reset and take aim again, I may have got away with it. It's almost 10 years since my last one so I'm probably overdue

Mr Man
Clean license now....but from past experience I`v always received a NIP 6 to 8 days after being snapped......a mate of mine drove past a camera van(window open) at approximately 50mph in a 30 zone...and never recieved a NIP. eldavo69
Very local to me, as in less than a mile away. Ok thanks. Not that pertinent to me as that's one of the few areas I don't regularly frequent. Well, not unless I need a crack ho'.
Tarmac_Terrorist
On a couple of occasions I thought for sure that i'd been caught. Windows were open and didn't appear to be either setting up or packing up. Assumed he must have been having his lunch or spanking his monkey because nothing came through the letter box. The wait just seems to last for ages but don't assume you've been caught and hope for the best
Milo
17 days now and no NIP. I don't want to tempt fate but maybe, just maybe................
Tipex
17 is right on the limit, I reckon your in the clear, if nothing turns up by Tuesday, then your definately ok, as they couldn't possibly argue it was posted within the 14 days, what with there being no postal strikes or anything.
