Soulboy
I had a Magic Tree melt the plastic on the sun visor and another take the varnish off the piano black wood on the S3. Not to mention gagging on the smell from the free 7* one from the Albania car wash. So I now try and be more in harmony with the world and go for those wooden Forest Fruit efforts (apple mint is my topple of choice). Hung in the boot as I don't like things swinging around in the cabin.
stooH
I used to use the wooden ones dangling from the rear mirror but it always left greasy marks on the windscreen an bashed it when cornering exuberantly. Now i use one of the clip on ones that go on the vents, think it's an ambi pure vanilla and you can adjust to get a nice subtle smell
eldavo69
Currently got a Yankee Candle car gel, fragrance is fresh cotton or laundry or something. Just smells of clean. Dangling from the rear view mirror at the moment, it was attached to the rear coat hook but kept falling off.
cruiser647
Ya bunch of big girl's blouses! What's wrong with the smell of old farts and the exhaust fumes from the knackered old car infront? Personally, I wouldn't use the Ambi-Pur stuff, as they are way too artificial. The wooden blocks are OK, but the smell disappears quickly. As a result, I don't bother with any.
Tipex
Jelly belly jelly bean air freshener is by far and the way the best, nice fresh fruity smells and last a while too. It's the rubber ones you want by the way, not the paper ones.
m4ttm4son
I used to have a small forest of assorted Magic Trees. I now have a chav-forum paper air freshener hanging from the mirror that should get changed soon Those Ambi Pur ones are all over my mum's car, so their image is already tainted plus they can really stain if the bottle comes out. Keeping the interior clean is the best way to keep it fresh smelling, I find. Stick some leather cleaner etc over the seats and you'll soon forget it was "Pine fresh" or whatever ten minutes before. Cuprabob
Don't use them at the moment but plan to try out California Scents as I've heard so many people rave about them
pingpongpo
I've been stood on the pavement before when a car has driven past and I could smell very strongly the magic tree coming from inside. I'm talking 30mph as well not pootling along in a queue. I haven't had an air freshener in the car for quite a few years but I'm beginning to think a nice upholstry shampoo might be in order soon as it sometimes gets a bit niffy if my football gear is damp in the boot. Exactly what the wifey uses. I used to have the Acid smiley face ball from halfords many years ago and then never bothered with any again. To pick up on what Souldboy said... The cheapo ones have taken off the finish from the plastic/rubber to the inside of my mums A4 which is a royal PITA.
