Reefo
If you've looked at my previous videos regarding the blinking PRNDS, all of them happened when I shift from D to P during parking. This time, today, the gearbox locked up (won't shift from 1st gear) while I was driving..then.. again.. the blinking PRNDS. Had to pull up on the side of the road and restart my engine. Great. Worked fine after that. Mind you, I only bought this car, fresh out of the box just over 2 years ago.If you've experienced this before with your A3 and managed to fix it, please do share with me! Thanks!
shark_90
Have you had your car scanned for fault codes?

DukeDesmo
Shortly after I got my A3 (3.2 DSG) I had a similar problem; car started OK and then gradually stopped selecting gears until I was left with it in neutral and couldn't change anything. Switching off and re-starting (reboot?) fixed it. Audi said that they could find nothing wrong. Anyway it did it again a few months later and then I had a couple of occasions when all the warning lights would come on shortly after startup, everytime a 'reboot' would fix it, again Audi could find nothing wrong and of course it behaved whilst they were testing it. Shortly after that the battery died, since having a new battery (and another not long ago) it has been fine, check your battery?...

I just had my battery replaced about 2 weeks ago coz it died after one year of use. So I doubt it's a battery problem..

I find that quite hard to believe, if the gearbox is upset enough to flash the PRNDS lights then it should be upset enough to log a fault code. So I doubt it's a battery problem.. Maybe other electrical interference problems? bad earth? otherwise I'd be suspecting the mechatronics are playing up. I understand it's fairly common on DSG boxes, bad news is that Audi don't repair, only replace and it's not cheap but I have heard that there are independant/specialists that can repair it for a more reasonable price. Good luck... I find that quite hard to believe, if the gearbox is upset enough to flash the PRNDS lights then it should be upset enough to log a fault code. Me too, but that's what they told me - twice...

I have been patient enough to just let them sort it out with Audi. i.e. Find solutions and possible fixes. If you've watched my videos on the blinking PRNDS issue, you would see it happened more than 5 times already. My car's going in for scheduled 70k servicing soon and I will demand for it be fixed or replaced before they give it back to me.
