Chillihead
Happy New Year, so I bought an A3 cab 1.8 TFSI (09) like it and went to Bristol Audi to get some new number plates, saw an 09 A4 2.0 TDi final edition cab and have now all but bought it, well P/X'd my old A4 and the A3 for it. Fully specced and pristine. Any thing I should be aware of before I do the deal?
Cuprabob
Can't comment on the car although it sounds nice but who goes to a main dealer to get number plates? Hope you've learned your lesson Good luck with the new car
Chillihead
Hi, thanks. £14.50 for a pair, that's not bad is it?
Cuprabob
Hi, thanks. £14.50 for a pair, that's not bad is it? To be fair £14.50 a pair is pretty damn good if you had just them and left
Chillihead
Oh you are so right, I had been offered less than £1,500 for my old A4 they gave me £2750 against this Used Audi A4 2.0 TDI Final Edition for sale at Bristol Audi added my current car and I collect it on Tuesday. Great car, the A3 cab was too flimsy.

garcon magnifique
I'm kinda torn. Not sure I could class a newish Audi as a classic "impulse" purchase. 20 year old knackered Alfa yes, nearly new Audi not so much. On the other hand, buying a cabriolet in January.... I guess that's impulsive. Or would it be more impulsive to buy a cab on a randomly hot summer's day? Hmmm... Whatever, hope you enjoy it.

I would class it impulsive as he only went to buy a pair of number plates
garcon magnifique
There is that. Mind you, I have accidentally bought a car when taking mine in for a service before now.

Chillihead
Si, just been in Amsterdam for the day, I had left my trusty A4 to be MOT'd before I returned to collect the impulse buy on Tuesday, had a call from Audi to tell me that the car had passed. Then told it needed a new gearbox (£4,000) however the deal would still be honoured. Woohoo. I dooubt whether my 92,000 03 A4 would have been that easy to sell with a knackered gearbox, so, looks as though I got the A4 Cab for a direct swap with my A3, very happy. Any advice on replacement HID's? Thank you all so far.
Chillihead
Ok, so now I have my lovely car, here are the questions. is it possible to re enable the command function, the car has bluetooth, GSM phone prep high and Navigation plus. I have been told that Audi ship all cabs with this function disabled. I cannot access my phones directory for addresses etc, is this because I am using Bluetooth, all other functionality appears to work. I do not get track listing etc when using my Ipod connected via the iPod adapter which was a factory fit...................................Finally, I have bought a 2Gb SD card, what formats can I use. Thank you in advance, I have trawled the user guide but cannot find these answers. Sorry but looking forward to being mocked
