Driver Information System issue

I was driving my AUDI A4 S-Line 2008 today and my Driver Information System Display turned off. It stayed like this for the rest of the journey, and half way through the journey home. I am new to this car so don't know if I did something to make this happen, have been playing with the steering wheel controls and general button pushing. Does anyone know if it is possible to turn the display on and off? Has anyone had an issue with their display.

My DIS is a colour version and is linked to an RNS-E.
