jUsT2eXy
Hi guys. Bit of a weird problem/dilemma here. I recently took my Audi A6 to a local London dealer to get my existing key reprogrammed (the AA de-programmed it at my request...I won't go into the details].. Anyway, I went to collect my car and the key fob and noticed that the fob was not the same one I handed to them. The one they gave me back was dusty, dirty and was ripped in places. I told them straight away that the fob they had given me was not mine, but they said it was... Anyway, I decided to go home and was told a manager would get back to me tomorrow.. So what I want to know is... is there anyway I can tell (apart from cosmetically) that the key/fob they gave me is not the one I handed to them? The picture above shows various codes [not my key]... will any of the codes on the key fob match any of the codes that may be visually seen in my car (e.g. Vin number/chassis number/engine number etc). That way I know that it is or is not my key... e.g. If a code on the fob they handed to me is the same as one hidden in the engine bay etc. I look forward to your replies. Regards. cruiser647
Not sure on the codes, but your best bet would probably not to have accepted the key. Any decent VAG indy would have been able to program the key. (info for next time.......)
