tdnyamarebvu
Hi guys . Me again I need to connect my iPhone 4s via the bluetooth hands free kit in my 2008 A6. I have tried on/off for few months now without any success whatsoever. Does anybody know if these 2 animals are compatible, and if so how can I connect the two. I have never had any probs with previous versions of the iPhone. Plieezzzeee Thanks Taf
craigyb
yes they should work fine together, does your car actually have bluetooth? Put the key in the ignition and move the key to the second position, dash lights should come on. Search from the phone for the car, it should find Audi UHVxxxx Pairing code is normally 1234 Any issues means either no phone kit or a faulty bluetooth system. tdnyamarebvu
Yes, car has Bluetooth .when I search phone finds AUDI UHVxxxx, but the next step of actually coupling them never works.so u think this might be an issue with car ???
craigyb
Sounds like it, I have replaced many many faulty bluetooth modules, did one today. It's quite a common fault for the car to appear to have bluetooth but not be able to pair.
Twinspark
I suspect you have a car with an RSAP bluetooth unit in it - as my 59 plate Golf does. In which case, an iPhone will never work with it, as Apple don't support RSAP... many manufacturers of modern phones don't.
craigyb
Oh feck here we go again. Unlike the VW rSAP system the Audi system actually has rSAP/HFP in the same ECU. So it's not a problem to have an Iphone connected to an rSAP system in HFP Mode. If it was we would have a lot of angry A8 owners that could not connect their Iphones to there nice shiney A8's. If yours is a late 2008 car then it could be a face lifted model and the pairing process is as follows: Make sure bluetooth on the phone is on and in "discoverable" mode Search for the phone from the car (select "search for new mobile phone " in TEL MMI menu) Once it has found the phone select the phone from the display and then you will be asked to select either Car Phone or Handsfree Depending on what you select you will get either a 16 digit (Car Phone) or 4 digit (Handsfree) PIN number. Accept the PIN and then enter it into your phone and it should pair with the car. First time pairing may take a while as it downloads the address book from the phone to the Directory Hope that helps
craigyb
This is only true if the car has phone prep high with rSAP and the method I stated is still valid for an iphone regardless of the phone system. craigyb
No, they offer a basic or a premium, premium being the rSAP system only system. ....and VW have clearly changed their module too as my wife's nice shiny new iPhone 4S pairs perfectly with her nice shiny new Golf Match
