SavvyUK
Hi all, just joined TSN today, only had my A4 a year! (and it's my third!) My question is (and it may seem a little trivial) but the mileage to empty on my DIS drops in demoniations of 5 miles. My first B6 A4 with basic DIS did this, but then I had a second (all be it briefly) B6 with the DIS with more features and I'm sure the range changed every 1 mile as you drove and not in 5's. So my current B6 has RNS-E with the fully featured DIS, I'd expect the range to change by demonitations of 1? Unless I remember wrongly. Thanks in advance Chris
eldavo69
When MrsEldavo had her B6 the DIS dropped in 5 mile increments. We thought we were getting rubbish economy of 34 mpg out of the 1.9tdi 130. Now we get 23 mpg out of the 2.2 petrol engine in the Alfa, it doesn't look so bad really! Bikertov
My DIS range also drops by 5 mile increments. Also, while the range-to-empty will fluctuate up and down during the tank, when you get the Fuel Range warning display come up at 45 miles or so, the range will only ever then go down (even if you drive uber-efficently). I have also noticed that while my driving and consumption is pretty consistent (around 23 - 25 MPG per journey and over a tank), the range at fill-up is never the same as the actual range achieved, only ever less. So while the DIS can say 380 or more miles range on fill up, and keep reasonably consistent during the first half of the tank (miles driven + range left to go) in reality the range decreases by the time the tank is empty, meaning I only get max 320 miles around town.
