xila
I am getting faults with the right adaptive light on my 2008 D3. I'm not sure that the adaptive lights add a lot of value and I would rather disable the adaptive functionality rather than replacing the motor and waiting for the next one to go. Does this instruction within the RossTech disable the adaptive lights or does it do something else. Audi A6 (4F) Headlight Aim Control (Adaptive Light) - Ross-Tech Wiki It also seems very complex to replace a xeon bulb - is that correct? snapdragon
Try [09] - Central Electronics You can then look at the codes, but TBH, I think if you have bi-xenon, you can only code with adaptive lamps too, but have a look and try the various options. You probably need full VCDS with coding helper. The bulbs are simple to change after the first time, but a little hard to access. One is in front of the aircleaner, so you need a very long philips to remove the screws and then a flatblade to undo the AFM hose clip.. (I leave the connector plugged in and move it to the side) You need liquid soap to refit the cleaner so it slips in the housing. The other (left side) is by far the easiest to access by turning the steering right and removing the wheel arch liner via a few torx screws, two flat blade cips at the bottom front and a couple of big thumb clips. You can remove the wheel if you need more space. Each headlamp also has the back cover held by s small torx self-tapper on top. To remove the bulb, flip off the wire clip on the ballast/ignitor, turn the ignitor about 20˚ to undo and wiggle off. The ignitor has a cable plugged in a top corner which usually pops out. The D2S bulb is held in by a U shaped wire clip as on many halogen bulbs. Take note of orientation before removing the new one needs the big notch at the top. Upon reassembly, test the new bulb's fitting in the ignitor and observe how it turns to lock and also how this locking mechanism moves a tab to lock the connector in. If you push the connector in to early, it rotates the mechanism and you can't fit it to the bulb. Edited August 1, 2012 by snapdragon
