83jlf
Hi I have been reading the forum regular and love the work everyone does! I didpost a number of years ago but couldn’t remember my log in details  I have a 2010 A3 sportback owned since new. Last autumn I noticed the rearwindows were frequently becoming covered in condensation. After a while Inoticed the interior trim that sits round the window had started to get whitemould on. When I drop the rear windows they come up very wet on the inside ofthe glass. The front windows are fine. Dry and when dropped come up dry. I had the supplying dealer take a look pretty much straight away. They did awater test and stated they couldn’t find anything. I left it a couple of monthsand then had another local dealer take a look. They said they stripped the doordown and checked window seals and did water test etc. This dealer also statedthey tested the window on another brand new A3 sportback. They said it was thedesign of the door that when the window is dropped, water sitting on the sealgoes inside the door and makes this moisture on the glass. They also stated itwas ok. I do not use the rear windows so I am not happy with the diagnosis that thewater is slightly coming in when the windows are down. I have left thesituation over Christmas to monitor. I have not used the rear door windows andthe trim has even more of this white mould is appearing. The warranty ends in March so obviously I want this sorting. The carpets andseats etc are dry so I am not talking volumes of water. Has anyone had similar on an A3 sportback or can suggest anything before I takeit back to the supplying dealer. Many thanks
SAiLO
If the car is still under warranty take it straight to the dealer and ask them to get it sorted for you.
Decked
I'd also be taking it back to the dealer.... Where do you park it? Could you park it so the sun hits it in the morning and warms it up? I know this isn't a great fix but it could reduce the water/mould slightly. At the end of the day, I've never heard of this happening before and it sounds like it needs a new seal. The dealer should be able to sort that out for you. They stated they could not find anything and listed no faults found. The mould that was on the seal has been removed so the technicians have obviously seen it. I am not 100% happy that there are no faults. If they have seen the mould surely they cant just say we found nothing. Any ideas anyone? any audi techs knocking around? My warranty is up in late March as the car is then 3 years old. Cheers for the help
