eldavo69
We're taking the private plate off my wife's car ahead of a change. I've filled in the form to put it on retention, sent it off with the cheque, V5 and MOT a week ago. We've now received the V5 back with the original registration number on but that's it. Am I going to get an MOT back and something to take to the post office to get a new tax disc or is that it???
Tipex
They will post you a new tax disc and MOT, but they always come separately. You can change the plate now, ANPR will know it's taxed and no one else looks at tax discs these days.
eldavo69
I've already got the old plates so I'll change them over at some point. Will have to wait for the tax disc and MOT to come through before it gets shipped off to WBAC. The car looks very forlorn sat on it's steel winter wheels as I'm taking the standard ones for a refurb. eldavo69
Oops - guess what turned up in the post today? Tax disc, retention certificate and MOT! Would've been easier if they'd told me they were arriving separately.
CarMad
You have dealt with the DVLA before haven't you, easy, correct, fast and good communication aren't something they have been taught. Although they haven't been that bad for me to be honest.
