Tesla P90D Mental Machine

No photo or video I'm afraid (the car camera is out of action at present).

However, I was taking our youngest to school in the 5 this morning when I saw a P90D a few cars ahead.  We were trundling along behind a silver Ford Ka doing about 18 mph in a 40 mph zone.

This was irritating me.

The Tesla driver was obviously getting a lot more irritated than me though because he was hugging the white line awaiting an opportunity to overtake.  This was never going to happen though as it was peak time.

Then, the Ford Ka indicates and turns off right.

The Tesla now has a clear road ahead, probably 1/2 mile of a straight section of tarmac.

FECK ME!

Gone.  I mean, just gone!  Even if I'd had the car camera working, I suspect all you'd be watching was a black blur or what appeared to be a smudge on the screen.

We've all seen the videos of them in Mental Mode (Ludicrous whatever) but jesus wept, have you ever seen one really go for it in the flesh?  Absolutely incredible.  Just disappeared.  By the time I got to where he'd been, he'd totally gone over the horizon.  By the time I got over the horizon, to where I'd expect to see him stuck in traffic, he was still nowhere to be seen.  He either took off and is in orbit around Jupiter or he did a Back To The Future time jump.

Astonishing and in all my years I have never seen anything take off like he did.

Just saw this and this happened to me today.

Coming home leaving the end of the M56 and joining the M60 there is a long sweeping bend and up ahead in the outside late was a Tesla. I don't know why but I thought to myself I wonder if is going to gun it and on boy did he. He swept straight to the outside lane at warp factor 9 and was off completely out of site as quickly as the thought entered my head.

Very impressive and a nice funky orange colour to it, I'd be interested in a 3 if there was more certainty about delivery.

I saw an older Model S a few weeks back on German plates - as I pulled up along side both the driver and passenger were heads down reading books lol! First time I've seen Autopilot being used and this was northbound on the M3 in the roadworks/narrow lanes. Driver was wearing a baseball cap too so no change of spotting anything ahead of him!

Driver caught on I was watching, proceeded to drop the window, turn in his seat, lean with both arms out of the car and try strike up a conversation - nutter!! Further up the car then left the M3 to join the anti-clockwise M25 and he had both arms out of the sunroof to prove the car was still doing everything - amazing tech!
