Hi All,

I am keen to remove my center armrest. For several reasons

1) It hampers access to the rear footwells which is where i prefer to keep hand lugage

2) If in the down position it rattle slightly

3) If placing anything in it that rattles as well

4) To reduce weight!

Anyone know how to remove the bugger I found some allen key grub screws at the rear and below it via the rear ash try there are also some hefty brackets to support it whic i cannot access without removing the whole console.

I am unsure as to what the correct removal sequence is, I also don't want to damage anything in the process. Any hep appreciated.

Yeah I'd like to remove mine also - it rattles in the up position , I can't change gear or use the handbrake when it's in the down position. I discovered I can stop it rattling by putting it in the up position with the cover open which falls against the rear seat. It really would be better removed but I am concerned it might look like a hack job....

I fitted one of these so it shoudl eb the same, but in reverse!

Undo the screws at the rear of the console and lift it up slightly which will enable you to reach the retaining bolts at the side. Follow the vagparts diagram and it is easy, thats what i did.
