Ritey
Wondered how long it would be before I got that 1 thrown at me! But alas my poor student image of being pennyless is holding tight until I get my next loan cheque! What do you drink anyway Chris, I may suprise you by introducing myself and get you a drink!! shao_khan
I am really fussy with drink. If I am driving I will drink only a certain beverage that people take the piss out off. Otherwise it is limited to Lager, Beer,Ale, Cider, Spirits, Wine, Fortefied Wine, mead, that kind of stuff......

AnthonyB
...for what it's worth, I asked my dealer about this topic this morning when I dropped mine off for some minor niggle sorting (I'll see how they get on!).. It seems the official line is "no", don't put 'em on as they may melt. However, if you have to replace a few protectors over the course of ownership because they've got too hot (perhaps this is why they're fragile as commented in another thread - Smudge?), it's certainly better than replacing a new lamp... Cheers, Anthony..
struyk
they are not stating all of this because they think that the reduced airflow hitting the lamps will cause the lamps to overheat and shorten the life expectancy of them, are they? Maybe they aren't concerned about the protectors at all?!? Maybe they are worried about a stream of owners claiming they want a new £600 unit under warranty as they feel it failed too soon........
