rmmacauley
Hi I have a standard 210bhp S3 with 29000 miles on the clock , and am debating whether or not to get it chipped. By the reckoning of my mates stopwatch currently it does 0-60mph in about 6.5 seconds and 30-70mph in about 6 exactly. Has anyone timed their chipped S3 and if so does it improve much on those times? It seems like 210 bhp is already a lot for a 1.8 to make and I am worried about engine reliability also - has anyone got a higher mileage chipped S3 and if so any problems? Grateful for your thoughts......
loddrik
Forget the stopwatch, it is irrelivant, drive a chipped S3 and you WILL get yours chipped! Don't worry about mileage/reliability issues, it is an AUDI, not a Vauxhall, AUDI engines are understressed as standard and can take chipping in their stride with no worries at all as long as it hasn't done 300k already. Drillslinger
Dude, I got my A3 chipped at 100k kms and haven't had any problems yet (35k kms) (Knock on wood)
Paul
get it done! i waited 14K miles on first S3 and wish id done it sooner. I did on next one 6.4 secs to 60 is standard for a S3. Chipped will easily dip below 6 if your brutal on tyres/clutch. pop along to a meet. therte is always someone with a modded S3

M3Will
I just tried out the 5hr Revo free demo on mine. I must say its a revelation. Makes the original car seem almost agricultural. My car has 18k on the clock and I have no qualms whatsoever about getting it done - in fact I liked the evaluation so much that Im booked in next week. Shame Ive finished the 5hr test now as Im back to the normal engine Beginning of last week I had a volvo 2.5T estate really try to waste me. I had to really stoke the S3 to beat the volvo, and even then I hardly left him for dead which Is why I decided there and then to turn to the dark side, muhahahah At the moment Im thinking of a chip, then exhaust. But in the back of my mind, that 350hp/350lb/ft mod that AMD offer for about £6k is screaming at me... If I decide to keep this (becuase the RS3 turns out to be crap) then I think that is what I will do. get it done ! will
rmmacauley
Ok , thats unanimous then! Next question is which chip? What do you think of Superchip?
Paul
superchip doesnt have the largest following in the Audi circles (no pun intended) read into that what you wish I would look at the main contenders... and also your location to them and try and get a test drive or a passenger demo. you coul look at AMD APR MTM REVO among others
